Cy Lakes Coaching History

Robert Blackshear

2010-2014

Hired away from from Cy Springs to open up one half of the Cy Lakes/Cy Ranch joint opening in 2008, Robert Blackshear successfully got the Spartans program off the ground but failed to get many victories into the win column. As far a new struggling programs go, Cy Lakes caused a few scares and beat fellow struggling program Cy Springs, Blackshear’s old team, in both the 2010 and 2011 seasons. However, the program tapered off in 2012, going winless, though Blackshear and company managed to eek out a lone win in 2013. The 2014 campaign served as rock bottom, however. Cy Lakes gave up a record amount of yards on defense, while the team managed to score just 86 points the entire season. The burning zeppelin was highlighted by a mid season contest against Jersey Village that saw the Spartans end the night with negative offensive yardage. Blackshear resigned at the end of 2014.

Ronald Patton

2015-present

A graduate of Cy Fair ISD, Ronald Patton took over the reigns of Cy Lakes in 2015 with a goal to reinvigorate a program that had spent it’s first five years near or at the bottom of the 17-6A standings. The Patton Era started off with a bang, as the Spartans took down Mayde Creek 68-38 in their 2015 opener, setting a record for offensive yards and points scored in a single game. The party was short lived however, as Cy Lakes lost their next nine to end the season, though remained much more competitive in games than their previous season. With his rookie year behind him, look for Patton to try and launch Cy Lakes to their next level.
