Jersey Village Coaching History

Paul Carr

1973-1976

Opening up the 2nd ever football program in Cy Fair ISD history, Paul Carr was given a tough wall to climb in his first season. Jersey Village jumped into the varsity football fray only a year into their existence, playing without a single senior at the school. It showed on the field, as Carr led the Falcons to a dismal 1-9 season in 1973. Things looked to be heading upward with a 5-5 finish in 1974, but then completely bottomed out. Jersey Village would give up nearly five times as many points as they scored over the next two years, leading to back to back 1-9 campaigns. Carr left after 1976.

Tom Marshall

1977-1982

Tasked with turning around what had been a fairly dismal first four years for Jersey Village, Tom Marshall’s tenure marked the plugging of some holes, but not all of them. While the offense and defense would get marginally better over time, it ultimately wasn’t enough to push the Falcons over the hump and into a position for consistent contention. Marshall’s efforts came to a head in 1981 as the team posted their first winning record in school history, yet still failed to make the playoffs. Marshall stepped down after a 3-7 season in 1982.

Rudy Phillips

1983-1996

After a couple of 1-9 seasons to start his time at Jersey Village, Rudy Phillips helped the Falcons begin a slow but steady rise to greater prominence in Texas high school football. Back to back winning seasons in 1986 and 1987 preceded what would be the first trip to the playoffs in school history in 1990. 1991 however was the first monster season for Jersey Village, as the Phillips-led team went 10-0 to clinch their first ever district title. After being crowned co-champions a year later, things mellowed out somewhat, though never to their previous lows. Phillips would get the Falcons into the playoffs again in 1995 and post winning records in all but his final season on the sidelines.

David Snokhous

1997-present

Currently the longest actively tenured head coach in Cy Fair ISD football, David Snokhous’ success in his time at the helm of Jersey Village football has made somewhat of a “U” shape. The Falcons found themselves in the playoffs during seven of the first ten years of the Snokhous era, two of them including a district titles in 1998 and 2004. From there, things would take a violent turn downward, as Jersey Village won a combined six games from 2007 to 2010. An uptick took over from there however, as Snokhous and the Falcons came up a game shy of the postseason in both 2013 and 2014.
